Summary0001711: Directory services LDAP / Active Directory
DescriptionConfiguring OMV to use a directory service can be a real pain. SSSD makes this much easier by only uses two files, /etc.samba/smb.conf and /etc/sssd/sssd.conf. SSSD is capable of handling many types directory's even multiple simultaneously.
SSSD is a standard part of Debian and apt-get installs it. Only the .conf file need to be configured and some additions to smb.conf.

I have a thread at the forums explaining how to do it for AD on a 2008 sbs server.
Hopefully others will test against there servers.

Add to the bottom of Services - SMB/CIFS.
I think all that would be required is to add a button to the enable Directory Service and a box like the extra options box. Would need some logic to handle edit etc.
