|Summary||0001699: iSCSI Target LUN device selection|
|Description||See forum entry http://forum.openmediavault.org/index.php/Thread/17653-Lost-iSCSI-Target-configuration/|
A feature request: instead of not allowing the selection of iSCSI Target LUN devices of block devices that contain partitions on them, would it be possible to either:
1) Allow the selection, but ask the user for a confirmation to make sure they really want to do this, or
2) Allow the selection of block devices that contain partitions, but only if those partitions are not currently mounted?
In my case, I lost my iSCSI Target configuration for some reason while replacing a drive and rebuilding a RAID 5 array, and I am not able to reconfigure iSCSI via the GUI because of the Add LUN device selection restriction.
In the case of option 0000002, the "File System" tab could be modified to contain a flag telling OMV whether or not to mount a partition at boot time, so the user could unmount a partition on a block device, uncheck the mount at boot time checkbox, and then the device would be available for selection as an iSCSI Target LUN.
