Summary0001513: SMART - to include raidcards in JBOD mode
Descriptionwill it be possible to add SMART for Areca controllers? A general posibillity is better, but start somewhere. They are great for MD raid, BTRFS/ZFS etc in JBOD mode as one still get full action from the Onboard Cache. While Filesystem has full control over disks.

Add the report from System - Diagnostics and we will see what we can do.

Please give as as much information as possible.

# udevadm info --query=property --name=/dev/sg<N>

Useful infos are here: https://www.smartmontools.org/wiki/Supported_RAID-Controllers

Please have a look at the issue 0001516 and post the equal information as requested there. We need to find a way to identify the controller via sysfs or something generic.

# eval $(udevadm info --export --query=property --name=/dev/sg<N>)
# cat /sys/$DEVPATH/device/../../../vendor
# cat /sys/$DEVPATH/device/../../../device
# ls -alh /sys/$DEVPATH/device/../../../

The controller can be identified here: http://pcidatabase.com/search.php?device_search_str=raid
